Once the track is visible, you can reposition it vertically in the global track list (so you can situate it directly above the main window if you like), and make it taller by dragging the divider above the track headers downwards. To do this, simply hit the Alt-G key command to reveal the Global Tracks Configuration pop-up, and tick the Arrangement checkbox. To see the Arrangement track, you first have to make sure it’s set to be visible in the Global Tracks area that appears above the regular track headers in Logic’s main window. Not only is this great for playing around with arrangements of your own tracks, it’s also a brilliantly simple way of creating extended versions of songs you like - drag the MP3 into Logic, sync it to the grid using the Adapt Project Tempo to Region Tempo command, then get rid of that annoying trumpet solo and extend that catchy outro chorus to your heart’s content! The Arrangement track works by treating song sections as single entities to be relocated at will - picking up a section collects all of the regions on all of the tracks contained vertically within it. You can literally pick up chunks of your song up and move them around on the timeline into whatever order you like. I saw this thread that described a similar issue, but no solutions. One of the main elements to be added to the app over the years is a dedicated Arrangement track, intended to make it easier to come up with new arrangement ideas with the minimum of fuss and bother. Unfortunately, software like BetterSnapTool doesn't seem to recognize the plug-ins as separate windows that can be snapped. Snapping plug-in windows would be another acceptable solution.

I would love to find a way to access all of my plug-ins in a similar manner.

Furthermore, I find it interesting that the smart controls area allows you to view the full plug-in for only the channel EQ. It doesn't really make sense that the plug-ins are the only thing in Logic that have to open in a separate window. My initial thought is that you should be able to open a plug-in in the main window like you can with the mixer. Somehow arrange plug-in windows neatly with some sort of snapping software. Somehow open plug-ins by subdividing the main window (like the mixer and editor)Ģ. I'm trying to avoid plug-ins opening in pop-up windows, because it leads to overlapping windows and a cluttered workspace.ġ. I've been looking for a solution to this for a while and I've seen a few other users with the same problem.īasically, I'm looking for a way to manage my plug-in windows more easily. As of version 10.2, Logic Pro X also includes Alchemy, a sample-manipulation synthesizer that was previously developed by Camel Audio.
